More Galaxy S5 rumors: New 2900mAh Li-ion battery with rapid charging


When I reported on the latest rumored specs for the Galaxy S5 yesterday, one thought kept going through my mind: If the phone does indeed comes with a 5.25-inch “2K” display, it’s going to need one heck of a battery to keep it going. And according to PhoneArena, it just might get one. The site’s sources say that Samsung is planning to use a new type of lithium-ion battery to provide plenty of juice to the Galaxy S5, without needing to increase its size.

For reference, the Galaxy S4 has a 5-inch, 1080p display and a 2600mAh battery. Based on the rumors, the Galaxy S5 might have a 5.25-inch, 2K display and a 2900mAh battery.
