Swim through a Fish Ball

Pacific Island National Parks

We filmed this fish ball while we were monitoring fish populations in a Pacific island national park. Big-eyed scad (Akule in Hawaiian and Atule in Samoan) form large balls for safety. Balls like these can occasionally be seen in the waters of some national parks in the U.S. Pacific islands.
